Pushkar Fair

The small town of Pushkar comes to life each year during the occasion of the Pushkar Fair. Pushkar Fair is organized in November each year on the occasion of Kartik Poornima (full moon). No other fair in the world can match the spirit of the Pushkar fair. Pushkar fair is the largest camel fair in the world and also much more than that. Pushkar fair is an occasion for the local people to come together and enjoy the break from their otherwise busy schedules. The people here enjoy in stunning colours and styles.

Pushkar fair is the time to for Hindu pilgrims to flock at Pushkar from far and wide so as to pay homage to Lord Brahma. The devotees take a holy dip in the Pushkar Lake to wash off their sins and seek blessings by praying at the world's only Brahma temple.

The festivities of the Pushkar Fair continue for five days. The locals are dressed in brilliant attires. The camels, sold in huge numbers at the fair, are also dressed ethnically. Piercing of the nose of the camels adds to their decoration. The celebrations are accompanied by camel races and other competitions. Adorned camels are paraded in front of the tourists who are bedazzled to see the sight. The entire fair altogether offers great fun for the visitors.
